HireSchool v Consultancy

Consultancy

Companies spend hundreds of thousands—sometimes millions—of dollars on hiring transformation projects. A veritable King's ransom! They bring in consultants, run discovery sessions, define leadership principles, and redesign processes. The goal is always the same: to make hiring faster, fairer, and more effective.

But in reality much of that investment doesn't buy innovation. It buys re-cycling.

Most consultancies are simply re-engineering a version of the same proven methods— leadership frameworks, structured interviews, assessment rubrics, and KPIs—that already exist in best-practice form across industries. Tut tut!

Businesses end up paying premium rates to discover what's already known by others.

Quality Assurance

If your business has the resources you should strongly consider adding a Quality Assurance layer to your hiring process. The cherry on top, as it were.

Some of the top companies on the planet like Google and Amazon, have a Quality Assurance layer as part of their hiring process. They structure them differently, but the purpose is to have a mechanism where employees who do not have a direct connection with the role and team can review and ensure that the expected standards of the company are upheld.

If you have a company of 500+ employees, we’d strongly recommend the addition of a Quality Assurance layer in your process.
